 Author Guidelines:

 

 

Manuscripts are to be sent by e-mail (not registered) to the editor-in-chief. Journal of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. P.O Box 9515, Jeddah 21423, Saudi Arabia.

For the time being manuscript in English will be accepted. In the future manuscript in Arabic will be considered.

Manuscript are considered with the understanding that they have not been previously published anywhere in any language and are not under simultaneous consideration by another permanent property of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and may not be published elsewhere without written permission of the Editor-in-Chief.

The author(s) is (are) responsible for all statement in hi/her work, including changes made by the Editor-in-Chief.


Conforming to the steps listed below will facilitate the editorial processing of your manuscript:

1. Covering Letter:Manuscript must be accompanied on submission a cover letter giving transmittal together with the name, mailing address, affiliation and telephone number of the corresponding author(s).

2. Copyright transmittal:A copyright transmittal letter, signed by all author, is be provided in a separate page and state that:“ The Journal of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic surgery can take action in reviewing and editing the submission, the author(s) undersigned hereby transfer(s), all copyright ownership to the Journal of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery in the event that the work is published by the Journal of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. The author(s) also understands the editorial staff consistent with its style.3. Format of the Manuscript: Original articles ought to follow the “ Vancouver Style and have the following format:
Journal of the SSDDS- Volume 10, January 2005.

 

Title of the Manuscript- Descriptive of the contents and not more than 75 characters.

·  Abstracts and Key Words- Structured and include the result of the study. If possible, abstracts are in Arabic and English are to be given.


·  Introduction:

Background and the question the paper intends to answer.


·  Materials and Methods:

The study design and methods definitions for diagnostic criteria, the population or patient samples, and laboratory and statistical methods.

·  Results:

The pertinent findings in a logical sequence with tables and figures as appropriate.

 

·  Discussion:

Conclusions based on the findings, evidence from the literature that supports the conclusions, conflicting arguments, applicability of the conclusions and implications for future research or clinical applications.


·  Reference:

Cited in a numerical order.

 

 4. Preparation of the Manuscript:

The following guidelines are to be observed when preparing the manuscript intended for publication in the Journal of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.·  The tile page should give full names, degrees and academic affiliations of all authors, and if the manuscript was presented at a meeting, the organization, place and date of presentation is to be given. Writing style should conform to proper English usage and syntax. It may be useful to consult American Medical Association Manual for Authors and Editors, published by Appleton-Lange Health Science Division, Norwalk, CTO 6850, USA and similar references.·  Abstract should not exceed 150 words.·  Each table should be typed on a separate page, with each line, including headings, double-spaced. Continuations should be on a second sheet with all headings repeated.·  

Illustrations should be high-contrast, glossy prints, in triplicate unmounted and untrimmed; lettering should be legible after reduction to column size. Figure number, name of first author, and arrow indicating “ top” should be typed on a gummed label and affixed on the back of each illustration. Do not write directly on the print. Magnification and stain should be provided for histologic sections. Full color illustrations should be submitted as 35 mm, positive color transparencies mounted in cardboard and carefully packed. Do not submit glass-mounted transparencies or color prints. All photographs in which there is possibility of patient identification should be accompanied by a signed statement of consent (covering eye to mask identity is sufficient).·  

References should be listed and numbered consecutive in both text and reference list. The author is responsible for complete and accurate references. Unpublished data, personal communications, or manuscript should not be included in the list of references. Such material, if essential, may be incorporated in the body f the article.·  Illustrations and tables form other publications should be properly acknowledged. Permission from publisher and author should be obtained and indicated. Brief acknowledgements of support or contributions may be placed at the end of the text before references.
